| Description | Cumming, GA- The Forsyth County Master Gardeners, dedicated to serving the community, will kick off the Fall/Winter Library Series on September 19. The series, which runs through February 26, includes presentations on fall planting, roses, organic gardening, nature photography and beekeeping. These educational classes are free to the public and offer an invaluable service for community members interested in topics that help them grow better gardens and learn about nature.
The first session, Fall is for Planting, is set for Saturday, September 19 from 1-2:30pm. Ed Miller will discuss the benefits of planting perennials, trees and shrubs, lawns, vegetables and other plants during the months of September and October. As the public becomes more aware of eating locally and in season, more gardeners are planning to extend the gardening time to harvest more of their own food. Ed Miller has been a Forsyth County Master Gardener for three years and is active in a number of garden projects in the county. Last year he became project manager for the Forsyth County Master Gardeners Library program to educate the public on all aspects of gardening and this is the third series that is being presented.
Fall is for Planting, presented on September 19, will be held at the Forsyth County Public Library, 585 Dahlonega Road, Cumming, GA 30040. The time for the class is 1-2:30pm.
