Who’s growing our seeds? Farmers!

Throughout the coming year, Georgia Organics will invest in farmer prosperity by providing impact capital directly to farmers, emergency support, training, and opportunities for shared learning and camaraderie. We will foster a pipeline of new farmers for land stewardship and succession, and advocate for and with our farmers on a local and national level.

This is only possible with your support.

We are awash with challenges, from a public health crisis to exponential climate change and unpredictable weather patterns, rising production and food costs, competition with farm conglomerates, supply chain issues, land and resource inequities, and barriers to food access in areas throughout the state. While these challenges impact us all, our farmers are on the front lines. Your support is vital to helping farmers overcome these challenges and foster the fair, equitable, and healthy conditions they need to plant and grow their seeds.

Your support will help us to:

  • Provide impact capital directly to farmers through a host of Farmer Services programs

  • Sustain our ongoing Farmer Field Days, webinars, Organic technical assistance and cost-share, Kaiser Bridge Health Care and cooperative purchases, as well as cohort opportunities like our Farmer Accelerator and Apprenticeship programs

  • Prepare farmers with the tools to adapt to and remain productive in the face of climate change through our new Climate Smart Farmer program in partnership with McIntosh SEED

  • Develop a lifeline of support for farmers facing emergencies through our Farmer Fund

  • Ramp up our local and national advocacy in support of soil-focused farming practices so that our farmers can thrive

But that’s not all. Georgia Organics also focuses on Community Collaborations that strengthen the larger farmer-centered food system. Your donation will help us to:

  • Expand our Family Farm Share program from Waycross into Savannah, providing families with young children at early care centers with a low-cost share of fresh food sourced from several southeast Georgia farms

  • Grow our Farmer Champion network of pop-ups, bakeries, butcheries, cafes, restaurants, and early care centers sourcing from local and organic farms

  • Connect more than 1,000,000 children throughout Georgia with local, healthy food in their cafeterias and classrooms through October Farm to School Month and Farm to School Innovation Mini Grants

And if you haven’t heard, we’re thrilled to announce that in 2025 will be hosting our first-ever regional Georgia Organics Conference! Over the next year, we will be working with partners throughout the Southeast to plan the convening for broad-scale and long-term impact.

To fuel the ambitious year ahead, we’re asking for your support.

Our farmers are crucial. Let’s help them grow the seeds for healthy food and a healthy future!
