As told by Amy Bean of the Little Farm in Gray: “My dad’s farm in Jones County is a 150-acre farm, and it had several houses and a huge pond on it. When we bought our property it was only about 22 acres, and we’d say ‘We’re going to the farm,’ and everyone would say ‘Which one?’ and we’d say ‘The little farm!’ So it’s now 50 acres and not so little anymore. Our last name is Bean, and we decided not to be the Bean Farm because everybody would think we only grew beans.”
