Farmer Beard of the Week: Duane Marcus

duane_marcusIn serving our state’s farmers, we would be derelict if we did not highlight our state’s farmer beards. They are spectacular and crucial to the local food movement. (Don’t stare directly into them.)

This week’s beard belongs to Duane Marcus of the Funny Farm in Stone Mountain.

Duane, how would you characterize your beard?
Wild and unkempt like me and my garden.

What is your beard care regimen?
Well first of all I don’t do routines. Most nights after dinner I run my fingers through my beard to get out the crumbs and stuff. When I go out in public I do comb it out so it will be full and awesome. When I take my weekly shower i wash my beard and the rest of me with Dr. Bronners Pure Castile Soap, peppermint flavor. Then I dry off and comb it.

Do you know of a great farmer beard in the Empire State of the South? We want to hear about it! Holler at brooke at georgiaorganics dot org.
