Win it at the Market: Garnish and Gather

Our farmers and local vendors appreciate everyone who comes to our markets every week. For all the folks who go the extra mile and bring a new person along to one of our My Market Club markets, we want to thank you! As a token of our gratitude, each month, My Market Club will hold a raffle for great free prizes. Bring a friend who is new to the market along on your next visit! They’ll get $5 and you’ll be entered to win free goodies from your favorite local vendors.

This month, the raffle prize at Grant Park, Westside, and Freedom Farmers Markets comes from Atlanta’s own Garnish and Gather. They deliver organic dinners, using locally-sourced ingredients and organic groceries. We asked a Emily Golub of Garnish and Gather a few questions to get to know a little bit more about them.

How did you get started in the business?
Several years ago I became interested in the local food movement. I decided to take the plunge and join a CSA where I’d receive a mystery box of veggies fresh from the farm each week. I quickly fell in love with my CSA box and the adventure that came with it, but I also spent a lot of time looking up recipes for what to do with some of veggies I’d never seen before! Overtime I began to come up with the idea – what if we put it all together: delicious recipes with all the ingredients and no waste!?! And from there Garnish & Gather was born.
What’s your favorite thing about the market?

The people! The customers, vendors, staff and volunteers are some of the nicest, most passionate people you’ll ever meet. There is just always a buzz of positive energy at the markets that is irresistible.

What is your number one passion outside of work?

Spending time with my family.

What’s your favorite food or recipe?

It definitely changes with the seasons but right now it’s a BLT with Pine Street Market bacon and fresh tomatoes from the market. We recently had a tomato sandwich on our menu that had a lemon zest mayo, and I’m hooked!

A big thank you to the folks of Garnish and Gather for your donation to My Market Club!
