Terri Jager Blinoce of Ladybug Farm will be speaking during the Hey Ya, Saturday Session.
What role do you play in the local, organic food movement?
I am somewhat of a homesteader on steroids! I’ve been a farmer for 9 years and run a small CSA. I have undertook several innovations including a 6,000 gallon rainwater harvesting irrigation system, a passive solar sunroom and the first certified organic hay in Georgia.
Why are you excited to present about your topic and what are some key takeaways attendees will get from your session?
On rainwater we will discuss ideas for managing overhead rains, on the hay we will discuss the ins and outs of the certified organic hay market.
What is your vision for the future of organic farming in Georgia?
A sustainable career and lifestyle option for a multitude of generous, kind and passionate folks both young and old.
What about the Georgia Organics conference do you look forward to the most?
Gathering of friends, new and old, that share a common vision of healthy food, healthy farms and healthy farmers.
