Georgia Organics had a strong showing at the 2018 Southeast Regional Fruit and Vegetable Conference in Savannah Jan. 11-14. Hosted by the Georgia Fruit and Vegetable Growers Association, the Southeast Regional Fruit and Vegetable Conference is the LARGEST educational conference and trade show in the southeastern United States that unites growers, vendors and suppliers. This year, the Georgia Fruit and Vegetable Association invited Georgia Organics to set up a table  and share information about the Georgia Organics 200 Organics Farm Campaign. Director of Farmer Services Michael Wall and Farmer Services Coordinator Perri Campis spoke to conference attendees about:

  • companies interested in connecting with organic farmers
  • researchers
  • our work with the Georgia Department of Agriculture
  • how farmers can learn more about organic production
  • and how farmers can sell to their local school systems.

Michael was invited to present in the Food Safety education track, alongside Billy Mitchell from Global Growers and Matthew Bagshaw from Hungry Heart Farm during the conference.

Georgia Organics is committed to continuing our partnership with the Georgia Fruit and Vegetable Association. We are proud to be part of the strongest showing yet of sustainable and organic agriculture stakeholders and we look forward to continuing this work at the 2018 Georgia Organics Conference & Expo in Augusta Feb. 16-17.
