Behind the Conference: Angela Hagen

Angela Hagen is a chef and the Lodge Manager at Terra Chula Plantation in Quitman, Ga. She is a graduate of Wiregrass Georgia Technical College and an overall food enthusiast inspired by her mother and grandmother’s cooking. Angela will be hosting the Herb-an Cookery session on Feb. 9. 

What role do you play in the local, organic food movement?

My family has been growing organic food for many years, and has always tried to work with local farmers for things that we have trouble growing. I also try to use as much local food as I can when cooking at my current job.

Why are you excited to present your topic? What are some key takeaways attendees will get from your session? My session is on cooking with fresh herbs and spices!

I am so excited to share about something that is so near and dear to my heart. One of my favorite things to do in the kitchen is actually to come up with new spice blends = particularly for meat.

What are you looking forward too at the Georgia Organics conference?

Definitely the food.
