Behind the Conference: Nancy Campbell

Nancy Campbell combines her training in nutrition and integrative health with over a decade of professional culinary experience.  She teaches a range of cooking workshops, and supports clients seeking nutritional clarity and accountability.  She also offers pantry rehabs, personal chef services, and meal planning support.  Nancy believes that food can both be medicine and entertainment.  It’s the balance of the two that nourishes our vitality. You can take Nancy’s Eat Cook Grow: A Culinary Nutrition Crash Course at the 2019 Georgia Organics Conference & Expo. Sign up here.

  1. What role do you play in the local, organic food movement?

As a personal chef and culinary educator, I directly support the local, organic food movement and advocate to my clients that they source as much of their produce, cheese, and meat from a local farmer or producer.

  1. Why are you excited to present your topic? What are some key takeaways attendees will get from your session?

I’m thrilled to be presenting a day of cooking on Friday! Chef Lynne Sawicki and I will be walking 20 participants through the very basics of cooking starting with knife skills and wrapping with elevating farm fresh produce and organic pasture raised chicken.  This is a session that will be in its second year at the conference, and it’s so powerful to see how impactful empowering someone in the kitchen can be to their lives and the lives of those they love, teach, and care for.

  1. What are you looking forward to at the Georgia Organics conference?

I’m looking forward to expanding my knowledge of the vast range of agriculture organic farmers across the state of Georgia produce. While I grew up in Augusta, I lived 12 years in New York City and only recently returned to Atlanta with my husband and daughter.  In the last decade so much of the agriculture being grown in the state has expanded, and, frankly, my interest in it has also grown.  I can’t wait to wrap my head around it all.
