FoodCorps is a nationwide team of AmeriCorps leaders who connect kids to real food and help them grow up healthy. FoodCorps places emerging leaders into limited-resource schools for a year of service implementing a three-ingredient recipe for healthy kids. Service members:

  1. Teach hands-on lessons about food and nutrition                                               
  2. Build and tend school gardens and teach cooking lessons so kids can taste the fresh food they’ve grown
  3. Change what’s on children’s lunch trays, giving them healthy food from local farms

Georgia is one of 18 states in the United States where FoodCorps currently serves. Georgia Organics is the host site for Georgia, and during the 2016-2017 school year, nine service members serve at five service sites:
