Book Talk and Signing for “Whitewash: The Story of a Weed Killer, Cancer and the Corruption of Science”

November 15, 2017 @ 6:30 pm - 8:30 pm

For the past 20 years author Carey Gillam has meticulously reported and researched the deceptions and disturbing details behind the spread of the world’s most popular pesticide: glyphosate, an active chemical ingredient in Monsanto’s Roundup. Now Gillam is releasing “Whitewash: Weed Killer, Cancer and the Corruption of Science.”

Fifty-five years after Rachel Carson’ Silent Spring awakened the world to unchecked pesticide use, “Whitewash” illustrates how deeply we have failed to heed that warning. That is why Environment Georgia and our allies are hosting Carey at Emory’s Rollins School of Public Health for a chance to learn more about her important research and a future that doesn’t rely on glyphosate and other pesticides linked to cancer.
