PARTNER PROMOTION GUIDELINES
GROWER NEWS GUIDELINES
Grower News is the Farmer Services monthly newsletter that is emailed to over 700 Georgia Organics farmer members on the first Monday of every month (with dates that sometimes vary depending on team bandwidth).
The Grower News email highlights Georgia Organics programming and relevant farmer news and events. Farmer Members and partner organizations are encouraged to send us news about farm employment opportunities, items for sale, workshops, webinars, and events.
Grower News is best utilized when there is no immediate need for exposure (ex., within a 1 to 2-week deadline or cutoff date). Where Georgia Organics’ Farmer Services programming requires, we sometimes send out a Special Grower News.
GROWER NEWS SUBMISSION REQUIREMENTS
All submissions must include:
A title/name
A copy/paste description
A start and end date and/or time
An address (if in-person)
Organizer name and contact information
Necessary accompanying URL links (shortened links are preferred; ex., usage of Bit.ly, Rebrandly, TinyURL, etc.)
Optional additions that are ideal include:
URL link(s) to a landing page (ex., job descriptions, Eventbrite tickets, farm websites, organization websites)
GROWER NEWS TIMING
Grower News goes out on the first Monday of every month. To have your request fulfilled, submissions are due by the third week of the previous month (or one full week in advance of the publishing date).
For example, a Grower News scheduled to publish on Monday, Sept. 4, 2023, needs all requests to be submitted by 5 p.m. ET on Friday, Aug. 25, 2023. This allows us time to make edits and reach out if questions arise.
We will run your content in Grower News until it’s expiration date. This means after we agree to post on your behalf, we will add it to the Grower News at least one time. We will confirm with you that this is our intent, and it may be in Grower News in additional emails if the timing permits.
When Georgia Organics programming dictates, we sometimes send out a Special Grower’s News.
GROWER NEWS EVENTS
We only publish in-person events that take place in Georgia.
Relevant webinars for consideration include livestock, farming in the SE region, climate change initiatives, in-person events, and webinars pertaining to agriculture in the SE
If an event needs to be published immediately, submit a social media request form.
Facilitation of sales falls on the advertiser and event organizer. Georgia Organics is not part of the process or responsible for false or misleading ads that do adhere to the guidelines nor receiving funds for events or funneling potential attendees to the event.
GROWER NEWS JOBS
Job postings are restricted to entities based in Georgia.
Job postings are automatically removed after 30 days. If the position remains open, resubmission is required.
Email meg@georgiaorganics.org to resubmit a job posting
GROWER NEWS ITEMS FOR SALE OR GIVEAWAY
Open to all active farmer members
Broken or non-working machinery will not be posted
Submissions must have a link to current photo of object
Submit farm equipment, solar panels, water catchment, supplies, livestock, plant starts, etc.
Facilitation of sales falls on the advertiser and responder. Georgia Organics is not part of the process or responsible for false or misleading ads that do adhere to the guidelines.
Constant false advertisement will lead to a ban from posting through our outlets.
SOCIAL MEDIA GUIDELINES
Georgia Organics' social media includes Instagram(@georgiaorganics), Facebook (Georgia Organics), and Linked In (Georgia Organics). We post in-house content weekly, as well as some of our partners’ programs, webinars, farmer news, and relevant events to over 47,000 nationwide followers. Farmer Members and partner organizations are encouraged to send us news about employment, workshops, webinars, and events.
Submitting information through our social media is best utilized when there is an urgent deadline, or the deadline does not fall within the timing to submit to Grower News. We queue our posts in advance, so if you have a hard deadline involved, an early submission (14+ business days) could yield multiple posts.

Image(s)
To avoid low resolution, images must have a width of at least 1080 pixels with an aspect ratio of between 1.91:1 and 4:5 (a height between 566 and 1350 pixels with a width of 1080 pixels).
Multiple images (carousel) must all have the same aspect ratio to avoid automated cropping when publishing.
SOCIAL MEDIA TIMING
Posts should be submitted at least 7 business days before required exposure.
Once we have accepted your content, we will post your submission at least once and notify you of our intent to do so.
We do not post submissions between the hours of 5 p.m. to 10 a.m. ET on Mondays or Fridays.
We do not post submissions on Saturdays and Sundays.
Same-day posts are honored at the discretion of our Communications Coordinator who will consult our Farmer Services Team.
For example, emergencies such as wind-blowing over your corn stalks — creating an immediate need to offload the lot before it spoils — have the potential to warrant a same-day feature on our social media channels and will be dependent upon communication’s bandwidth to post that day.
