The following is a list of Georgia farmers markets and their current status, as well as the precautions they are taking to ensure that farmers market food is the freshest, healthiest food Georgians could be eating in the current climate. Farmers markets are leading the way in local food access and, as always, taking all food safety and personal safety precautions into account, even more critically in the wake of the Covid-19 pandemic.

The below list is ongoing, pending additional market information, and will be updated as additional markets provide status updates. Athens

  • Athens Farmers Market (www.athensfarmersmarket.net)
    • Status: Postponing opening physical market, instead proceeding with online ordering
  • Athens Locally Grown (www.athens.locallygrown.net
    • When: ​Pickup Thursdsays from 4:30-8pm  
    • Status: Pre-bagging orders to reduce handling, only allowing one person from each family to pickup order to minimize crowding, encouraging online only payments, workers wearing protective gear.

Atlanta:

    • Freedom Farmers Market at The Carter Center (www.freedomfarmersmkt.org)
      • When: Saturday from 9am-noon (Jan-Feb 9), 9am-1pm (March-Dec 9)
      • Status: Cancelled all special events, prepackaged food, no consumption allowed in market, encouraging no lingering, encouraging CDC and DOH sanitation practices, physical contact discouraged.
      • SNAP/EBT: Yes.
    • Morningside Farmers Market (www.morningsidemarket.com)
      • ​When: Saturdays from 8-11:30 am 
      • Status: Some pre-order/pickup options available with certain farmers, likely to increase in weeks ahead. Money handling is limited, farmers asked to bring extra staff so only one person is handling transactions; customers will point to what they want. Self-distancing in line is encouraged. 
    • Grant Park Farmers Market (www.cfmatl.org/grantpark/
      • When: Sundays from 9am-1pm
      • Status: Likely to remain at Eventide Brewing until April 5. Policies at markets include: required handwashing stations, sanitation of common touch points, continued reinforcement of CDC’s recommendations, support social distancing with tents and signage spaced farther apart. Zero tolerance policies for vendors who feel sick or know someone who is sick. Vendor policies include one person assigned to handle food, another to handle payments, one customer in tent at a time, encourage card over cash, pre-bag the produce, limit displayed items, wear gloves, frequently sanitize surfaces and hands.

      • SNAP/EBT: Yes. Customers will be given disposable cups and gloves to hold tokens, sanitized before and after market.
    • Westside Growers Market (www.facebook.com/pg/westsidegrowersmarket/about/?ref=page_internal
      • When: Tuesdays, Thursdays, Saturdays from 10am-2pm 
      • Status: Offering delivery in the Westside as of March 15, offering mobile market
      • SNAP/EBT: Yes.

Augusta: Augusta Locally Grown (www.augustalocallygrown.org)

  • ​When: Pickup at Evans: Tuesdays from 6-8pm. Pickup in downtown Augusta: Tuesdays from 5-7pm
  • Status: Provides pickup service, customers are asked to pay online ahead of time, and they will bring orders out to cars during pickup. 

Carrollton: Cotton Mill Farmers Market (www.cottonmillfarmersmarket.org/index.html)

  • When: ​Saturdays from 9am-11am (through March 2020). After March 2020, Saturdays from 8am-12pm
  • Status: Currently open and taking health & safety precautions at this time.

Conyers: Conyers Locally Grown (www.conyerslocallygrown.net)

  • When: Fridays from 5-7pm 
  • Status: Currently remains open. The market is online ordering and people can pick up once a week. Order by Tuesdays at 8pm and pick up Fridays from 5-7pm at 1264 Parker Rd. Suite A, Conyers, GA. Contact for pick up is Brady Bala 404-456-4333. 

Macon: Mulberry Market (www.landtohand.org/farmersmarkets/

  • When: Wednesdays from 3:30-6pm
  • Status: Vendor tents will be spaced 10 feet apart and will institute a NO TOUCH policy. Vendors will be wearing gloves at all times and will handle all produce. CHW will provide hand sanitizer stations as well as UV-C light to sanitize the market credit/debit/SNAP terminal between uses. 
  • SNAP/EBT: Yes

Peachtree City: Peachtree City Farmers Market (www.ptcfarmersmarket.org)

  • When: Wednesdays and Saturdays from 9am-1pm 
  • Status: Vendors will be handling all produce and products themselves.They will direct the customer to indicate what they would like to purchase, then they will pick it up, bag and wrap all produce/products for you. Please be patient & give each other space while shopping. We ask that you shop & go, reducing the number of customers in the market at any one time.

Roswell: Sweet Apple Farmers & Artisans Market

  • When: Thursdays from 2-5pm 
  • Status: Now a drive-thru market on Thursdays from 2-5pm

Savannah: Forsyth Farmers’ Market (www.forsythfarmersmarket.com)

  • When: Saturday from 9 am- 1pm 
  • Status: TEMPORARY LOCATION: Wesley Oaks Methodist Church, 2603 Mechanics Ave, Thunderbolt. We are encouraging social distancing, including spacing out vendors. Discourage shopping if ill or vulnerable. Asking that vendors be the only ones touching the food. Providing hand sanitizer for vendors and customers. The Farm Truck will be thoroughly cleaned between each stop.
  • SNAP/EBT: Yes

Snellville: Snellville Farmers Market (www.snellvillefarmersmarket.com)

  • When: ​First Saturday of each month from 9am-noon 
  • Status: Vendors following guidelines recommended by the CDC.

Statesboro: Main Street Statesboro Farmers Market (http://www.statesborofarmersmarket.com) 

  • When: Pick- up on Thursdays from 4:30-6:30pm 
  • Statusopen for order or pick up: www.statesboromarket2go.locallygrown.net/ , pick up on Thursdays from 4:30-6:30pm at the Statesboro Convention & Visitors Bureau at 222 Main St. Pick up also available in Sylvania on Thursdays from 5:15-5:45pm at the Victory Garden General Store at 124 West Telephone Street. The market is planning to open April 4. 

Warner Robins: International City Farmers Market

  • When: Thursdays from1-6pm 
  • Status: Standard precautions being taken with hand sanitizer provided

Waycross: WayGreen Local Fare Market (https://www.waygreeninc.org/s/shop) 

  • When: Order opens Tuesdays and closes Thursdays at 5pm 
  • Status: Currently offer online ordering that opens each Tuesday and closes each Thursday at 5pm. You will be notified of pick up location once you have ordered (location changes).
